If you are short on garden space but still want to grow plants and vegetables, hydroponics is the answer. Instead of relying on soil and natural sunlight, hydroponics uses a nutrient rich water solution and a grow lamp to simulate the conditions in which a plant can photosynthesise.
As with all sources of lighting, the grow lamps used in hydroponics systems are prone to overheating if not used properly. Excess heat from the lamps could cause damage to your plants, or it could also cause a fire in the area, so it’s important to ventilate the room adequately to prevent fire hazards.

The premium activated carbon filter measures 250mm in length and 100mm 4” in diameter, and has an impressive 0.1 second contact time, which ensures 100% removal of odours. Under normal operating conditions, the filter has an 18 month lifespan.A pre-filter is included, and extra virgin carbon pellets allow for a better airflow.
The ducting tube is available in lengths of 5m or 10, and is made from flexible, hard-wearing multi-ply aluminium foil, which makes it puncture resistant and operational in temperatures from -30°C to 140°C. It is manufactured in accordance with EU standard EN131080 and British Standard BS476, which means it is fire resistant and helps to prevent the spread of fire.
The turbo inline fan is rated to IPX2, measures 100mm 4” in diameter, and has fan spigots which help to reach an airflow rate of up to 180 m3/h. The unit has a power consumption of 43w, a noise level of 18 dB(A), and requires a 220 to 240v electrical supply which is normally connected to your lighting circuit.
